The hit western drama Yellowstone has sparked a revival in western wear. However, one of the more notable trends the show is bringing back is the blanket jacket. Wool blanket coats (also known as “capotes”) were a mainstay of frontier life in the 1800s. These full-length jackets were made of heavy blanket-weight material that covered the body and was tied at the front. The majority of coats had vibrant Southwestern prints, and often had hoods or tassels. Wool blanket coats are often redesigned in a more modern way, with shorter and more practical cuts. Some of them even look like shirts or sweaters. They also have zippers or button closures.

The colourful cloth and sample for this coat was created by Pendleton and Native American model Ginew in collaboration with Dyani Whitehawk and Pendleton. The outer fabric is a wool-cotton blend, lined with safety-orange satin. The skatepark challenge is supported by 20 percent of the gross sales.
