Favorite Smoothie: Almond Cherry Delight

Remember my best ever cherry pie recipe. After making it through the holiday season last year, I had leftover cherries in my freezer. This beautiful almond Cherry Smoothie resulted.

This recipe was inspired by my friend Mia at Gathered diet. She had made a cherry shake on her IG stories last year and encouraged me to make the same!

This cherry smoothie is one of my favourite recipes. Tony, who isn’t a big smoothie fan, said that this was his favorite smoothie ever! If this doesn’t convince you, then I don’t what will.

Cherrys are a good choice for those who like them
Since I can remember, I have been a huge fan of tart cherries. They are not only delicious (and beautiful) to eat, but they also have many health benefits.

These products can help reduce muscle irritation and aid in muscle recovery (post-workout perfection).
Melatonin is naturally present in them and can help with sleep.
These are heart-healthy, and packed with antioxidants and vitamin C
This almond cherry smoothie is a must-have!
This vegan cherry smoothie is bursting with flavor, and you only need a few ingredients. It’s also easy to customize with your favourite mix-ins. Here’s the list of what you will need:

Banana : You’ll need one ripe, ripe banana in order to thicken the smoothie and sweeten it naturally. The best banana to use is a frozen one!
Frozen Cherries: The star of this smoothie. I like to use frozen tart cherries, but you can also use frozen cherries in general or a cherry and berry combination.
Almond Butter: Add a touch of creaminess and healthy fats by adding a little almond butter. Almond butter is a great alternative to peanut butter, but it tastes better! Use code ” AMBITIOUS15″ to save 15% on my favorite nut butter, Wild Associates.

Vanilla and almond extracts. The flavors of this smoothie are enhanced by the addition of each extract. Believe me! This smoothie is similar to cherry garcia ice-cream because of the almond extract. YUM!
Almond milk: You can use any type of milk you like (dairy-free or not).
Optional: Add some spinach to your smoothie for a boost of vegetables! The smoothie will change colour, but you won’t be able to style it.
Enjoy adding some tasty ingredients to make your cherry smoothie unique! Here are a few solutions:

Flaxseed Meal:This is one of my favorite ingredients to add to smoothies and shakes to increase fiber and minerals. Flaxseed is especially good for nursing mothers as it can help improve milk supply. A tablespoon is usually enough! Here’s one I like.
Hemp or Chia Seeds:Add a tablespoon or chia seeds to boost your omega-3s, fiber and healthy fat.

Greek Yogurt: Add a boost of protein to your recipe with a serving of Greek yogurt. When adding yogurt to this recipe, you will need to reduce the amount of almond milk by 1/4 cup.
Collagen peptides orprotein powder is another way to get some protein. This recipe can be made with plain, vanilla or chocolate-flavored protein powder. Here is an excellent plant-based option.
Cocoa powder: Turn this into an incredible chocolate cherry smoothie while adding a great supply of antioxidants. I recommend a tablespoon of cacao or cocoa powder.

The process couldn’t be easier! Add all the ingredients (and optional mix-ins if you want) to an excessive-powered blender, and blend until it is smooth and creamy. Add some fun toppings like coconut flakes or slivered nuts, frozen cherries, and cacao nibs.

Making a creamy, delicious smoothie
You can use frozen fruit to keep the smoothie thick and cold. Ice can sometimes make the smoothies watery or not mix well.
Do not be afraid to add more liquid if your smoothie is too thick or won’t mix. If you use a high powered blender, you may need to add more milk.

Start low, increase the speed To mix the ingredients, start the blender at a low speed, and then gradually increase the speed to excessive. Blender on low speed is the best way to finish.

Enjoy this tart cherry-based smoothie later by making it in advance! Three great ways to prepare and store smoothies in your freezer. You will learn the ice dice tray method, the mason-jar technique, and the freezer pack method.
